Mariah is currently completing her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Southern Queensland whilst working as a Law Clerk.
She has spent close to a decade working in the private sector of criminal defence, gaining a wealth of knowledge and insight into the intricacies of the criminal justice system. During this time, Mariah has become well-versed in the procedural and administrative practices that underpin the legal process, developing a deep understanding of how matters progress from initial instructions through to resolution.
In addition to her work in criminal defence, Mariah has also previously been employed in an administrative capacity at the Parole Board Queensland. This role provided her with valuable exposure to the parole process, including the assessment of applications and the decision-making framework of the board and makes her an asset to our parole team. The combination of these roles has equipped her with a unique perspective on both the court process and post-sentencing considerations, further strengthening her legal knowledge and professional skills.
Throughout her career, Mariah has cultivated key qualities that make her an asset in any legal environment. She is highly efficient, reliable and trustworthy, consistently ensuring that matters are handled with accuracy and care. Her approachable and empathetic nature allows her to build strong rapport with clients, helping them feel informed, supported and reassured during what is often one of the most challenging times in their lives.
Upon completion of her law degree, Mariah aspires to become a defence lawyer, where she can continue to advocate for individuals and uphold the principles of justice. She is passionate about guiding clients through complex legal matters with professionalism, compassion and a strong commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes.
