Expertise

Tom is currently completing his Bachelor of Laws at the Queensland University of Technology while working as a Law Clerk.

In his role, Tom supports the firm’s legal practitioners at every stage of a matter, from taking initial instructions through to finalisation. His responsibilities include legal research, document preparation and assisting with court appearances at the Magistrate, District and Supreme Courts.

Through his work with the firm, Tom has gained valuable insight into the demands of private legal practice and has developed a sound understanding of the processes underpinning the criminal justice system. He brings a grounded and open-minded approach to his work, with a genuine willingness to learn, listen and understand each set of circumstances before forming a view. He recognises that every task, however small, plays an integral role in the firm’s ability to provide careful, diligent and responsive service to its clients.

Tom understands that being accused of a criminal offence can be an extremely difficult time for both individuals and their families. He is committed to approaching every client with empathy, respect and professionalism and believes that everyone deserves to be heard, supported and treated with dignity.

Upon completing his studies, Tom intends to practise as a criminal defence lawyer, advocating for those accused of criminal offences, upholding their rights and striving to achieve the best possible outcome in every matter.

Outside the law, Tom has a strong commitment to health and fitness, training regularly in boxing, running and weightlifting. He maintains a keen interest in politics and global affairs, and enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly at the beach. Tom values time with friends and believes strongly in the benefits of an active, balanced lifestyle.
