Why Choose Jones + Associates for your charges under the Liquor Act
he Liquor Act 1992 governs the sale, supply and consumption of alcohol aiming to promote responsible drinking and protect public safety in Queensland. The Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation work together with the Queensland Police to enforce the Liquor Act by conducting regular inspections of licensed premises.
The Act regulates noise control, advertising of alcohol and the conduct of permitted activities on licensed premises. Some offences under the Act are selling alcohol without a license, serving alcohol to minors or intoxicated individuals and operating outside the permitted hours.
It is important that staff have requisite training – Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) so they can identify risky situations with guests and a failure to have trained staff is also an offence.
Breaches under the Liquor Act can be severe with high fines, suspension or cancellation of licenses and even imprisonment for license holders.
Jones + Associates can assist you with the defence of charges under the Act.
